歌曲背後的故事

對我來說，這是很震撼的一首歌。某天我獨自在家，突然湧現一首歌，在唱的過程中，發現這首歌可在聖誕節唱。歌中提及耶穌來到世上受苦、受死，副歌則解釋為何會發生，全因「神不忍你我受罪，如此深深厚愛」。當我唱副歌時，祂好像坐在身旁，我充份感受到祂的大愛，更被其充滿，叫我忍不住淚流滿面。是次真實地體會祂大愛的經歷非常特別，不止拉近祂和我的關係，而且箇中的親密程度乃是無可比擬的。

這首歌原名叫《聖誕故事》。跟我合唱的弟兄Fernand認為，若《聖誕故事》只在聖誕節唱甚為可惜，我細想後也認同，便改了歌名及第一句歌詞，原裝歌詞可在《無言的詩：聖誕故事》找到。

Story behind the song

“The Truth in Love”

This is a very overwhelming song to me as God gave me this song while I was alone at home one day. I found that it could be a Christmas carol as I sang it aloud. The song mentioned that Jesus came to suffer and die in this world; the chorus explained it hath happened all because “God can’t bear for you and me to suffer, such deep great love.” It seemed like Jesus was sitting by my side when I was singing the chorus. I could totally feel filled up by His great love, up to a point I just could not help crying. This unique and personal encounter with Jesus drew me closer to Him, and our intimacy is beyond comparison.

I initially named this song “Christmas Story”, but my duet partner Fernand thought that it would be a waste if we could only sing it during Christmas time. I agreed with him, so I rewrote the lyrics of the first verse. You can find the original lyrics from “Worship Beyond Words-Christmas Story”.
